Myth: Making More Money Will Solve My Financial Problems

It’s not about how much money you make. What matters most are the choices you make with the money you earn. The good news is we all have options! Sometimes we can feel stuck and cannot see other options so a session with a finance coach can make a huge difference in your life. Sometimes a few lifestyle changes or decisions can have a giant impact on whether someone can achieve financial freedom or not.

Here’s one small example: Just this week I sat down with someone who was shocked to find out they are spending $157 a month on apps like Netflix, Spotify, Apple, Hulu, HBOMax, and the list can go on and on! I asked the question, “How much do you think is OK to spend a month on apps?” The client chose a much lower number and decided their money can work better for them in numerous other ways. Small lifestyle changes can add up to a lot of money that can help meet your future goals like buying a home, a car, early retirement, a vacation or anything you’re looking towards to help yourself financially.

A finance coach can usually easily save the average client $300-$600 a month in the first conversation! Why? Most people do not treat their finances with care. Financial health takes a little work just like our physical health does. How healthy I am depends a lot on me. How financial healthy I am depends on me too! I can eat fast food every day if I want. If I choose to eat fast food regularly I shouldn’t be too surprised when I develop health complications. When I mindlessly spend and spend I shouldn’t be too surprised when I wind up in debt and need emergency financial treatment. If you’re in a place where the sirens are going off, it’s OK. Most of us have been there and done that. It’s time to get serious and focus on your financial health. No matter the circumstance, it can be done. Progress can be made. You can go to bed at night with peace in your finances.

The hardest part to getting healthy financially is to face it. Just like the first step in recovery is admitting you have an addiction. Many addictions drain us financially as well legal or illegal.

Maybe you’re not in debt but you want to see what it would take to retire early? A financial coach is an excellent choice to help you determine the best steps for you. Financial coaches are different from financial advisors. Advisors sell. Coaches do not. Coaches help you make your decisions and advisors can help point you to the right product to invest so you can get to where you want to be financially in investing. The best place to start is with a coach. A coach can help you accomplish paying off all debts so you’re ready to invest and meet with a financial advisor. A coach does not gain anything from you financially except for what you pay for the session. Coaches have your best interest in mind. Are you ready to make the best progress you can? Sign up for a coaching session now!
